I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Petco Grooming. I drove about 40 minutes from Woodbridge and spent over $80 on a bath and trim package that included nail trimming, teeth brushing, and a full bath. When I picked up my dog, the haircut looked good, but that was the only service that appeared to have been done properly. Her nails were still noticeably long, her breath still smelled as if her teeth had never been brushed, and her fur still smelled dirty. It honestly didn’t seem like she had received a proper bath. I called the store after I got home, and the groomer insisted that he had bathed her. Based on how she looked and smelled, I have a hard time believing she received a thorough bath. It felt more like she was simply sprayed down instead of being properly washed. For the amount of money I paid and the time I spent driving, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. This was a very disappointing experience, and I hope Petco improves its quality control so other customers don’t have the same experience.

I deleted my last review so I can update this and hopefully get the attention of those needed. This store and the staff are great. They are again suffering through the heat. I went in today and again the AC isn’t running well if at all and know they have been suffering for the last month. They do have more backup units this time but with this heatwave in the area, you really can only feel the cool air if you’re standing next to them. This is so sad, and the animals are still in the store! I feel the store should be closed when the temperature inside is like this. It’s not safe for the customers, staff or pets. Please contact your landlord or something. This is unacceptable for anyone. Original post from last year: I’m only rating this low to hopefully get the attention that’s needed. I feel for the past 2 months I’ve been in this store, they have not had proper AC for their staff. They have some plug in units toward the front and they’re barely working. I was just in yesterday and all of the animals (except fish) are taken out of the store, thankfully, but I feel so badly for their staff. Techs and staff were amazing. They processed our doggie in less than an hour for the Vetclinic. However the building was unbearably hot. They had an adoption event going on at the same time as Vet services so the store was packed. Air condition in June is a pretty standard expectation. My poor girl was panting so hard from the heat. Luckily they got us processed in a decent amount of time. And all the kittens were lethargic, I assume trying to keep themselves cool. Petco quit being cheap and turn the AC on especially if you're going to have that many beings in the store at one time. Your staff and customers deserve that.

This place is nice, I do not have really favorite pet stores. Usually visit the closest store on my way when I run errands. We luckily always find what Russie needs at that moment. To walk in to place like this is a treat for Russie. She enjoys like I enjoy going for shoping to a mall. She adores smells and cool temperature, (when it’s hot outside) and pet friendly atmosphere indoor.

20240612 It has been 2 years since I've shopped here. Picked up 2 ciclids, and the employee who helped me was very nice, and so was the cashier. The employees here are so nice and helpful. I rarely do in store shopping. It's do much easier and convenient to order online. First time I took advantage of the 20% off online order and store pickup. It is very disappointing that many of the online items are not available for store pick up. Not sure why. Items that are available might not be at the store, that I found out when I got the ready for pickup email. I always visit the small animals at the pet stores... I was very disappointing to see 4-5 decent size guinea pigs housed in such a small tank... About 20 gallon. One guinea pig needs at least twice the space. I hope they are not stuck in there until someone buys them from the tank. Overall, my shopping experience at this Petco is great!! ... Except for the housing for the guinea pigs. 😨
